VOLUNTEER ADVOCATE COORDINATOR
General Description:
The Volunteer Advocate Supervisor is responsible for supervision, case management, training development and coordination of assigned CASA Advocates to ensure that abused and neglected children receive quality advocacy in court.
Position Responsibilities:
A. CASA ADVOCATE CASE MANAGEMENT
· Supervise up to 30 active CASA Advocates and assist with their case management on cases.
· Maintain effective coordination with the court on case assignments, assign and reassign cases, notify Advocates of hearing dates, attend hearings, provide staff support to Advocates.
· Provide quality case management and supervision of Advocates as required by state and national standards. Assure monthly contact with each Advocate and coordinate timely court reports.
· Assist in the training of note taking and court documentation.
· Review cases and provide support and direction to the Advocates to assist them with their independent judgment.
· Organize and maintain case records for the office and update case records in a regular and timely manner, and collect and maintain data from Advocates regarding case updates.
· Attend emergency hearing on a rotating basis. Serve on “call” rotation for vacations, sick leave, weekend shelters, etc.
· Provide documentation on all hours worked on each case and gather volunteer hours monthly.
· Continually and respectfully evaluate each CASA Advocate’s skills, strengths and development needs in relation to the cases assigned.
· Ensure each Advocate is participating in ongoing training.
· Provide recommendation on volunteer advancement and termination to the Executive Director.
· Provide Advocates with report forms and resource information to be distributed to the families we work with.
· Provide Exit Interviews of all exiting Volunteer Advocates with documentation in their personnel file.
B. SUPERVISOR CASE MANAGEMENT
· Manage up to and no more than five cases, transferring to Volunteer Advocates as appropriate.
· Perform same duties as listed above for Supervisor-managed cases.
· May be asked to visit CASA children for unavailable volunteers, or when children are placed outside the immediate area. Work vehicle provided.
C. CASA ADVOCATE MANAGEMENT
· Actively recruit new CASA's
· Ensure the required amount (30 hours) to each new CASA Advocate is provided.
D. CASA OFFICE
· Participate in weekly supervisor and staff meetings. (outlying supervisors will participate monthly).
· Assist with general administrative assistant duties as the time permits, and needs arise.
· Serve as part of the CASA team for office duties, fundraising events, volunteer events, and promotional events for the CASA program.
Qualifications:
Currently serving or recently served as a CASA Advocate. (1 year minimum experience)
Must have valid driver's license
Must be able to pass a criminal background check, NCIC background check and have no felony convictions.
Proven ability to communicate, supervise and empower Advocates to be effective in their roles.
Proven ability to work cooperatively with various personalities and levels of experience and expertise.
Proven skills in: customer service, public relations, organizational, Excel, Word and email.
Commitment to CASA’s goals and mission.
Hours and benefits:
This position is full-time with benefits. Salary $15-$17.00 per hour
The position is permanent.
Office space and supplies are provided by the CASA office.
CURRENTLY HIRING: Assistant to the Executive Director
Position reports to Executive Director
General Description:
The Executive Assistant is responsible to assist the Executive Director in basic office functions, coordinates recruitment and retention of pro-bono attorneys, assists in the assignment of cases to Advocate Supervisors and Volunteers, assists in special case supervision and helps coordinate volunteer and fundraising activities.
Position Responsibilities:
FUNDRAISING
· Leads/co-leads committees for the CASA fundraising events.
· Liaison to Executive Director on all fundraising efforts and events.
· Works with community partners for fundraising.
· Does research for new fundraising ideas.
· Schedules the date, time, location and all other details of fundraising events.
ASSISTANT DUTIES
· Verifies all incoming cases for monthly report.
· Verifies all closing cases for monthly report.
· Record management for CASA files, i.e. verifies files are correct, destroys files after 7 years.
· Recruits and provides retention efforts for the volunteer attorneys.
· Arranges events for CASA program, i.e. appreciation dinners, lunches, and open house.
· Orders and maintains office supplies.
· Maintains office equipment and building.
· Helps assist the Executive Director in the coordination of the office and office schedule.
· Attends weekly staff meeting.
CASA OFFICE
· Responsible for general office functions.
· Responsible for cross training in the CASA office and fill in as needed.
· Make presentations if necessary for the promotion and success of the program.
· Assists with training needs as coordinated by the Executive Director.
· Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
· Strong attention to detail.
Qualifications:
Currently serving or recently served as a CASA Advocate strongly preferred.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check, NCIC background check and have no felony convictions.
Proven ability to communicate, supervise and empower Advocate Supervisors and Advocates to be effective in their roles.
Proven ability to work cooperatively with various personalities and levels of experience and expertise.
Proven skills in: customer service, public relations, organizational, Excel, Word and email.

This position is part-time (25 hours per week).
The position is permanent.
Salary $15-17/per hour depending on experience
Paid holidays and 3% simple IRA match
Office space and supplies are provided by the CASA office.
