VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING COORDINATOR
General Description:
The Training Coordinator is responsible for the recruitment, training and retention of CASA Volunteer Advocates to ensure that abused and neglected children receive quality advocacy in court. This job may require after business hours and some weekend work.
Position Responsibilities:
A. ESSENTIALS DUTIES
· Increase public awareness of CASA in the community
· Promote volunteer opportunities for the organization
· Screen all volunteer applications and paperwork
· Screen all advocate applications in preparation to send to the Supreme Court
· Organize and participate in volunteer recognition and special events
· Conduct initial Volunteer interviews
· Conduct tours of the CASA Program for potential Volunteers and funders
· Coordinate all background checks with the Executive Director
- Enters all volunteer, staff, and board background check dates into the program calendar to ensure proper and timely renewals.
- Sends out background check reminders to the Volunteers, Staff, and Board Members and attaches the Executive Director 90 and 60 days before renewal date.
- Prepares background check packets for final review and approval by the Executive Director
· Build and maintain each volunteer advocates file
· Work proactively with staff to provide accurate information and assistance to the Volunteer Advocate
· Prepare monthly tracking documentation required by the Idaho Supreme Court
· Conduct exit interviews for Advocates leaving the program
· Develop and cultivate relationships with community partners for recruiting purposes
B. RECRUITMENT
· Host and attend recruiting events within the community to attract qualified candidates
· Identify community outreach opportunities such as fairs, festivals, local markets and other agencies to recruit Volunteer Advocates
· Work with professional associations to publicize opportunities for Volunteers
· Develop and maintain relationships within the community to recruit Volunteer Advocates
C. TRAINING
· Conduct 30 hours of preservice training for each Volunteer Advocate
· Conduct an ongoing 12 hours of continuing education for each active Volunteer Advocate
D. RETENTION
· Provide each Volunteer Advocates file with documentation of pre-and in service training hours
· Organize Volunteer Advocate appreciation lunches quarterly with Executive Assistant
· Organize Volunteer Advocate appreciation dinner annually with Executive Assistant
E. CASA OFFICE
· Participate in weekly supervisor and staff meetings
· Train Volunteer Advocates on how to use the office equipment when appropriate
· Assist with general administrative assistant duties as the time permits, and needs arise
Serve as part of the CASA team for office duties, fundraising events, volunteer events, and promotional events for the CASA program and other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must have valid driver's license
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must have 1+ years of working with and training volunteers
Must be able to pass a criminal background check, NCIC background check and have no felony convictions.
Proven ability to communicate, supervise and empower Advocates to be effective in their roles.
Proven ability to work cooperatively with various personalities and levels of experience and expertise.
Proven skills in: customer service, public relations, organizational, Excel, Word and email.

This position is full-time with benefits, $15.00-$17.00 an hour
